UCM ARGES
The UCM Arges Pitesti was founded
in 1961 from a group of constructors
come from Valea Bistritei –
Bicaz for the investment “HPP
Arges” – on the river
Arges.
Until 1974 the subsidiary head
office was in Corbeni Arges and
since 1974 up to now it has been
in Pitesti.
The main activity of the UCM
Arges was the performance of construction
– erection works for hydropower
developments, water storage and
other construction works. These
last few years the subsidiary has
diversified the area of construction
works, by opening new perspectives
for its development through a new
award system of contacts by successfully
participating in tenders.
The UCM Arges started the
performance of the river Arges development
by erecting the concrete arch dam
at Vidraru, then the underground
HPP Corbeni Arges and further on
by developing the middle and downstream
section of the Arges at Curtea de
Arges – Prundu – Pitesti.
In 1971 the hydropower development
of the river Olt started along section
Daiesti – Govora, the works
for the hydropower development of
the river Dimbovita and Riul Tirgului
continued with the erection of the
Pecineagu dam and of the HPP Clabucet,
of the dam Riusor and of the HPP
Lelesti and Voinesti.
At the same time they commissioned
the HPP on the Olt river downstream,
section Draganesti, Frunzaru, Izbiceni.
Besides the specific hydropower
works, the Arges subsidiary has
lately approached a wide range of
various works from other fields
of activity like:
- customs – house Giurgiu
– stage II, the largest in
South – Eastern Europe;
- water supply of Pitesti;
- civil constructions (blocks of
flats, halls, etc.).
They have also been awarded the
contract for the waste storage Davidesti,
Cimpulung, Albota and Curtea de Arges.
They performed the rehabilitation
works of DN 7 Pitesti – Calimanesti
and at present they have in progress
the works for the motorway Bucuresti
– Pitesti in cooperation with
the Italian company FAT.
